WW2 German M40 Combat Helmet . HG1439

WW2 German M40 Combat Helmet. This one appears to have multiple layers of paint. I believe this one may have been overpainted black and was cleaned off, however, appears to have blue and green layers of paint (possible camo helmet that was over-painted). Also, you can see the black paint on the under side as well, which covers up the maker and size marks and is also black paint on parts the liner metal band as well. Liner is dry, however, still firm and all there and still has liner draw string as well, size marked on leather liner and also writing/naming on liner as well near on liner tongue. Very small portion of broken chin strap section on one side. Overall, a decent example of a WW2 German helmet, not sure if this is a camo helmet or a helmet that was later painted and cleaned back off to reveal the original paint below.
