WW2 Aeronautic First Aid Kit removed from a C-47 1943. This kit retains about 90% of the bandages, swabs, scissors, etc, inside. These were dot snapped to the interior walls of the aircraft in case of emergency. This one still has the aircraft code number stenciled on the back of the kit. Size approximately 7 inches x 5 inches x 4 inches. Zipper still works decently. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The Aeronautic First Aid Kit used during World War II by the U.S. Army Air Forces was a compact, canvas pouch designed for quick access in emergencies. Officially designated Medical Department Item No. 9776500, it featured four Lift-the-Dot fasteners that allowed it to be securely mounted inside aircraft such as the C-47 transport plane. Inside, the kit typically contained essential medical supplies for treating injuries in-flight or after a crash, including small dressings, wound tablets, basic medications, and safety pins. Its placement in the aircraft ensured it could be rapidly detached and carried to the injured. By the later stages of the war, these kits were often removed from certain aircraft types—especially when operational needs changed or when more specialized survival and rescue equipment replaced them. Today, surviving examples are valued by collectors for their historical and aviation significance.
