US WW2 Navy W.A.V.E.S. Purse – Named . FLU469

United States Navy W.A.V.E.S. purse with shoulder strap. Made and Sold under authority of US Navy WAVES tag on interior flap. Also, named (Ella Mae Appling) on interior WAVES contract tag. Size approximately 10 1/2 inches x 7 inches.  1940s era. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The United States Naval Reserve (Women’s Reserve), better known as the W.A.V.E.S. (for Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), was the women’s branch of the United States Naval Reserve during WW2.
