$480.00

American Vintage 45 Star Flag. Stitched on stars with separate applied stripes. The size 4 X 7 and marker marked in dark purplish type ink on edge near the one grommet. Three rows of 8 stars and three rows of 7 stars for a total of 45 stars. Very worn condition with stains, several tears/holes, old repairs, and a lot of wear from use. As expected with a flag that is well over 100+ years old.

Additional Notes: The American 45 star flag was flown from July 4, 1896 to July 3, 1908. The 45 star flag became the official flag of the United States on July 4th, 1896. The 45th star was added for the admission of the state of Utah on January 4th, 1896. The flag lasted for 12 years.

A general guide in American Flag construction materials is that cotton flags were issued during WW2 and nylon flags were issued during the Korean War. Earlier flags then WW2 were typically made of a wool blend.
