US M1832 Civil War Ames Foot Artillery Sword . CWS139

U.S. M1832 Civil War Ames Foot Artillery Short Sword. Missing scabbard as typical for these type swords. The marker mark is hard to make out, however, appears to be marked United States 1842 JCB (for Joseph C. Bragg, the government arms inspector from 1841-1849) on one side and N.P. AMES Springfield marked on other side. Also, W.A.T inspector mark (William Anderson Thorntan’s U.S. Armory inspector 1840-1869) on cross guard area. Blade approximately 19 inches and overall approximately 25 inches in length. A nice looking early American Foot Artillery Sword.
