US Civil War Mansfield & Lamb Cavalry Sword 1865 . CWS136

U.S. Civil War Mansfield & Lamb Cavalry Sword Dated 1865. No scabbard. Leather grip in worn condition and wire handle wrap still intact. Blade ricasso marked U.S. C.E.W. 1865 on one side and Mansfield & Lamb Forestdaler on other side of ricasso. The inspector initials of C.E.W. was the Union Government Inspector named Charles E. Wilson and was stationed at the “Mansfield & Lamb” sword factory during the late war period. Blade length approximately 34 3/4 inches and overall length approximately 41 inches. Also, numbered on top of pommel cap. Worn and used condition. Only sword, no scabbard.
