ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Antoninianus, or pre-reform radiate, was a coin used during the Roman Empire thought to have been valued at 2 denarii. It was initially silver but was slowly debased to bronze with minimal silver content. Gordian III was Roman emperor from 238 to 244. At the age of 13, he became the youngest sole Roman emperor.
